A video from early December shows mobs of illegal aliens, which included a lot of Chinese men swarming the California border.
Jorge Ventura, a NewsNation correspondent, published exclusive footage on X, formerly Twitter, which showed Border Patrol agents processing long lines of illegal migrants in eastern San Diego County on Dec. 4.
In the caption of his post, Ventura explained that the large group of migrants, which was made up of mostly Chinese men, were “crossing illegally through open gaps on the border wall in Jacumba Hot Springs, California.”
But unlike the usual migrants who seem to have little to nothing but the clothes on their backs and threadbare bags, many Chinese men in the video seem to be well-dressed, well-fed and carrying relatively new bags.
The Chinese migrants with suitcases who have illegally crossed the California border show that a new type of people are seeking asylum in the U.S. These Chinese men are starkly different from the exhausted and starved migrants who have traveled thousands of miles from South and Central America to the border.
Erika Pinheiro, an immigration attorney who does not represent the migrants in the NewsNation video, claimed that there are families who have experienced political oppression at the hands of the Chinese government and that many of them are political dissidents.
According to Pinheiro, one family she is working with includes a woman forcibly sterilized by the government. “They are coming into this country for a variety of reasons,” said Pinheiro.
Pinheiro also said these migrants usually have access to more resources.
“We have this understanding of asylum seekers as poor and [that] they are only coming to America for economic opportunities, but the people that I’m meeting [at the San Diego, California] border tend to be at least middle class, if not upper-middle class, from their countries,” added Pinheiro.
The migrants, who were made up of mostly single Chinese men, have been living in makeshift tents in Jacumba Hot Springs, a small town in San Diego County that has become the latest hub for illegal crossing.
As seen in the video, many Chinese men shown in a single-file line were wearing clean clothes and standing near their luggage. (Related: Illegal Alien Invasion: All the big U.S. land grabs by China and globalists may be for housing illegal immigrants.)
According to police sources, the Chinese men pay smugglers up to $35,000 to help them cross from Mexico into the United States.
Pinheiro, who is the executive director of migrant services at legal aid company Al Otro, spoke to some of the Chinese migrants who have walked through multiple Central American countries. They told her that many of them who could afford it flew into Mexico and simply walked into the U.S. from there.
The migrants told Pinheiro that they received their travel visa like they were going to vacation in Mexico, with some of them spending at least a week in a resort because they could afford it.
Chinese people are the fourth most common nationality of migrants entering America, following Venezuelans, Ecuadorians and Haitians, with many making their journey through the dangerous Darien gap.
Data has revealed that more than 4,000 Chinese nationals were apprehended by Border Patrol in October, a significant increase from only 329 who were captured around the same time last year.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) numbers have also shown that more than 230,000 people were apprehended crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in the San Diego Sector, an area that stretches 60 miles from the Pacific Ocean to around the town of Jacumba Hot Springs, marking a 20-year high for the area.
At the San Diego border, the Chinese are joined by other asylum seekers from other countries like Afghanistan, Jamaica, Nepal, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
The United Nations (UN) projected that China will lose 310,000 people from emigration in 2023 as the country’s economy struggled to recover after the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and rising youth unemployment.
The Chinese migrants use social media apps like WeChat to send step-by-step videos with tips, including what to pack to get through a jungle and how much money people need to bring to bribe police and officials in different countries.
In some cases, Chinese men flew to Ecuador because the country doesn’t require a travel visa.
According to data, more than 24,300 Chinese nationals were apprehended at the southwest border during Fiscal Year 2023, which ended on Sept. 30.
Nationwide, about 52,700 migrants from China were encountered by CBP personnel in FY23.
While November data has not yet been released by the CBP, apprehensions of Chinese illegals at the southwest border in October were 10 times higher than the same period in 2022.
In reaction to Ventura’s video, former Congressional candidate Andrew McCarthy asked a question not many would dare to ask: “How many Chinese sabotage teams are currently operating on U.S. soil?”
