We don’t credit the so-called “mainstream” media much these days when it comes to coverage of the Trump administration, but that’s because it’s been so skewed, so biased, and so filled with fake news.
But we have to take our hats off to ABC News for capturing some of the most heartbreaking, yet revealing, video to date regarding the true-blue national emergency and humanitarian disaster taking place along our southwestern border with Mexico. We are, however, left wondering why it took months to release it.
Just days ago, the network tweeted video showing migrants – mostly from Central America – literally crawling through razor wire with their children in an attempt to get onto U.S. soil at any cost, just so they could claim “asylum.”
In other segments, the video shows adult migrants – we don’t know if they are parents of these children or not – shoving kids under water to avoid barriers in order to smuggle them into our country.
“New: In video obtained by @ABC, a family of asylum seekers attempts to cross through a hole under the border wall near Yuma, Arizona, despite warnings from CBP agents – and a woman who makes it to the U.S. side is separated from her sister’s family,” the news site posted to Twitter Monday. (see below)
Another clip shows illegal immigrants risking their own lives and those of the children in their company to wade across drainage ditches just a few yards from the San Juan del Rio Colorado border crossing.
In the disturbing video, several children can be seen and heard crying madly in Spanish as they were being forced underwater to duck under a barrier gate before being hauled through concertina wire to the U.S. side.
“Go back … don’t do this. Look at the child! Hey! Be careful with the child! Be careful with the child!” U.S. Border Patrol agents can be heard shouting in Spanish – as the migrant adults ignored them, The American Mirror reported.
At one point, police officers from Mexico intervene at the water crossing and manage to prevent at least one child from having to endure being dunked underwater. “You’re going to traumatize this poor child,” a Border Patrol agent shouted. “She’s crying, if she crosses the child can drown.”
Again, it’s not clear if the adults carrying these children are actually their parents because as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson told Fox News earlier this week, the cartels are operating “child recycling” rings where they kidnap kids and pass them off to migrant adults attempting to sneak into the U.S. because ‘families’ get special asylum consideration and treatment.
“We’ve broken up so-called ‘child recycling’ rings, if you can believe it, in the last couple of months, which is where smugglers kidnap a child,” she said.
“Once they get in, because, as you know, we can only hold families for 20 days, they send the child back and bring the child back with another family – another fake family, another adult,” Nielsen added.
At the barrier gate, ABC News’ video shows Mexican police eventually wading into the cold water to block the path of migrants, but only after allowing several to cross.
What’s interesting is that, according to The American Mirror, the videos are months old. But they nonetheless “highlight the crisis situation created by the malfunctioning U.S. immigration system and bolster President Trump’s insistence that the situation is a national emergency,” the site reports.
But not to 2020 Democratic presidential contenders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).
In the meantime, Trump on Thursday gave Mexico one year to stop the illegal drug smuggling and illegal immigration into the United States or he threatened to impose trade sanctions in a desperate attempt to get some cooperation from our southern neighbor.
