As the Biden regime waffles over whether or not to deal with the border crisis it helped create, Texas is taking matters into its own hands with the launch of “Operation Lone Star.”
At the order of Gov. Greg Abbott, the Texas National Guard, Department of Public Safety (DPS), and various other air, ground, marine and tactical border security assets are headed to the southern border “to deny Mexican Cartels & smugglers the ability to move drugs & people into Texas.”
“The Alamo fell to enemy forces on this day in 1836,” Abbott added in a tweet. “The battle was lost, but the war was not. Texas prevailed. It’s a reminder of the grit, resolve & perseverance of Texans from our very beginning. We are challenged, but always overcome. The Cenotaph will remain unmoved.”
Blaming China Joe for the escalating crisis at America’s southern border, Abbott issued a rallying cry for his state to take action with its own resources to secure the border and attempt to put a stop to unfettered illegal immigration.
Just the other day, at least 13 people died at the border after a vehicle carrying dozens of illegal aliens smashed into a semi-truck. The incident was later determined to have ties to human smuggling, which the Biden regime apparently supports.
“Texas supports legal immigration but will not be an accomplice to the open border policies that cause, rather than prevent, a humanitarian crisis in our state and endanger the lives of Texans,” Abbott added in a statement to the media. “We will surge the resources and law enforcement personnel needed to confront this crisis.”
Texas DPS Col. Steve McCraw met with Abbott back in February to discuss a strategy for the border crisis, which has escalated dramatically ever since Hunter’s dad was installed into the White House.
“In the last seven days in the valley, they have stopped 10,000 individuals and 2,500 individuals in the last two days, and many are being released,” added Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, warning that Laredo, where he is from, will soon be overwhelmed with illegal “migrants.”
“Remember what happened under the problem we had last time? What did they do? [They said], ‘Oh, we have too many people in the south, so let us send them to Laredo,'” Cuellar further explained.
This “last time” that Cuellar was referring to involved busloads of illegal aliens being sent to and dropped off in Laredo, which was forced to pick up the tab while trying to figure out what to do with all of those new bodies.
“They process them in [Laredo] and they send them by bus stations, and then release them in Laredo,” Cuellar says about how the process works. “My thing is, if the numbers keep going up, they will release them in Laredo like they did in the past.”
Another concern is the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19), which these illegal alien caravans will almost certainly be spreading as they pour across the border and infiltrate Texas communities.
By allowing these illegal alien “superspreader” events to occur, the Biden regime is putting the lives of Texans and all other Americans at risk, Abbott says.
“Border security is strictly a federal responsibility,” he says. “The federal government alone has the responsibility to test, screen and quarantine illegal immigrants crossing our border who may have COVID.”
“Instead of doing their job, the Biden [regime] suggested it did not have the sufficient resources and, remarkably, asked Texas to assist them in aiding their illegal immigration program,” Abbott added. “Texas refused. We will not aid a program that makes our great country a magnet for illegal immigration.”
